Salvation Army workers unload donated items destined to make the holidays brighter for needy families. Fred Meyer stores delivered $140,000 in clothing, shoes, food and household goods to the Salvation Army and Deseret Industries Friday in Salt Lake City. The gift is part of the company's annual Christmas donation to help Utah's needy. "Fred Meyer is committed to the communities we serve," said Richard Clark, company vice president and regional store operations supervisor. "It's great to be here again this Christmas season with the Salvation Army and Deseret Industries to give, share and celebrate." More than $90,000 in merchandise was unloaded for the Salvation Army. The rest was unloaded at the Deseret Industries warehouse.
