Charlotte Alva Gallyer, age 93, passed away December 13, 1990, in Salt Lake City.
Born February 28, 1897, in Murray, Utah, a daughter of James Willard and Elizabeth Haddock Gallyer. Graduated from the University of Utah with a B.S. degree in Education. Taught for 45 years at the Forest Elementary School in Salt Lake City. Member of the Salt Lake City and Utah Retired Teachers Associations. She was a member of the Bryan Second Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was one of the pioneers of the LDS Primary organization.Survived by her grandnephew and companion, Robert Grant Wiscomb, her nephews, Grant A. "Bud" Wiscomb and James Gallyer, and nieces, Virginia Powell Fox and Ann Gallyer Richards. Also survived by many grandnephews and grandnieces and many great-grandnephews and great-grandnieces. Charlotte was a loving and kind woman who cared for all people, especially children and her family. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Dec. 17, 1:00 PM, in the Bryan Ward, 1621 So. 1100 East, where friends may call Monday one hour prior to the service. Interment, Murray City Cemetery. Funeral directors, Larkin Mortuary.
