The Small Business Council of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for the 1988 Small Business of the Year. Douglas Rhodes, small business/community development director for the chamber, said the deadline is Oct. 24.

Nominees for the award, sponsored by the Kelly Co., must be chamber members and employ up to 100 employees, but have had a work force of 50 or fewer at some point in the past three years.Rhodes said the committee, chaired by Sam Guevara of Art House Graphics Studio, will look for an established small business which has creatively and imaginatively developed its products or services, been actively involved in chamber activities, successfully responded to adversity and demonstrated growth in employment, sales and volume.

The winning business will be honored during a November luncheon and its name entered in a national Small Business Administration contest to select the national small business of the year.
