Three people remained hospitalized and two others were treated at a hospital and later released Friday afternoon after suffering injuries in a two-car accident about one mile up Provo Canyon.
Four of the injured are employees of the U.S. Forest Service who were returning to Manila, Daggett County, from a meeting in St. George. All of the injured were transported to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.Injured were:
Nancy Jarvie, 34, of Manila, listed Friday in critical condition with head and internal injuries.
Bruce Slover, 41, of Manila, listed in serious to critical condition with broken ribs and facial injuries.
Drannan Tidwell, 20, of Provo, was listed in serious condition with a broken leg and head injuries.
Donald Ross Catron, 38, of Manila was treated for facial lacerations and released.
Frank Muir, 31, of Manila, suffered cuts and bruises and was released.
Jack Garner, accident investigator for Orem police, said Tidwell was westbound about 1:27 p.m. when his car skidded on some ice and crossed over into the inside eastbound lane where it collided with the Forest Service van.
