Clarene Leonard Wilson, 97, passed away Thursday, December 13, 1990, at a local hospital.
He was born July 23, 1893, to John Ross and Louise Evans Wilson, in Salt Lake City. He married Henrietta Gee, November 9, 1922, in Duchesne; marriage later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. He had been a farmer and coal miner for Spring Canyon Coal Co. He was reared and educated in Duchesne County. Lived in Spring Canyon, Utah for 14 years. Lived in the Kaysville-Layton area since 1952. Member of the Layton 18th LDS Ward. Loved horses and animals and enjoyed tying hackamore ropes. Enjoyed traveling. He was proud of his grandchildren. He was a devoted husband and father. Veteran of World War I, serving in U.S. Army.Surviving are his wife, Layton; two sons and one daughter, Donald L. and wife, Lucie Wilson, Layton; LaMar Gee and wife, Orienne Wilson, Roosevelt; Lois and husband, Bill Olsen, Helper; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by four brothers, one sister and two half sister.
Funeral services will be held Monday, 2 p.m., at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1074 North Fairfield Road. Friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. and Monday 12:45-1:45 at the mortuary. Interment: Kaysville City Cemetery. Military honors accorded byu V.F.W. Honor Guard.
