Vincent Edmond McGuire, age 73, passed away at his home in Salt Lake City, on December 12, 1990 of heart failure.

Born July 6, 1917, Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of Vincent Thomas and Agnes Marie Held McGuire. Graduated from South High School, and as a youth was an exceptional athlete participating on many all-star baseball and basketball teams. Married Barbara Gust, 1940; later divorced. He then married Mary Gayle Emery, 1952; also divorced. Member of the Catholic Church."Vinnie" was a professional golfer for over half a century at Ft Douglas Country Club, the Salt Lake Country Club, Lakeside Country Club (in Los Angeles) and the University of Utah Golf Course. He was also an avid bowler and was a member of the Ritz Classic and University of Utah Bowling Leagues. All who knew "Vinnie" were touched by his giving spirit and his passing leaves a great void in our lives.

Survived by three sons and a daughter, V. Michael (wife Judy) McGuire, Richard E. (wife Jackie) McGuire and Mrs. Daniel (Tammy M.) Clark, all from Salt Lake City, and D. Patrick McGuire of St. George; 12 grandchildren; and a brother, John (wife Ila) McGuire, also Salt Lake City.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, December 17th, 12 noon at the St. Ambrose Church, 1975 South 2300 East, with Monsignor Hedderman celebrating the mass. Recitation of holy rosary will be held Sunday, December 16th, 4:30 pm at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 South 2300 East, where the family will receive friends following holy rosary from 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in "Vinnie's" name to the Utah Junior Golf Association, 419 E. 100 So. (84101), attn: Judy Ahrend. Interment: Sunset Gardens of the Valley. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Funeral Chapel.
