What would George Bailey, the selfless banker of "It's a Wonderful Life," think of Jimmy Stewart portraying Charles Keating, the central figure in the savings-and-loan influence peddling affair? Roll Call, a twice-a-week newspaper about doings on Capitol Hill, has come up with a cast for a movie version of the Keating Five hearings that in addition to Stewart would feature Vincent Price as Sen. Alan Cranston, D-Calif., Robert Duval as Dennis DeConcini, D-Ariz., William Shatner as Donald Riegle, D-Mich., and Ed Harris as John Glenn, D-Ohio, who he also played in "The Right Stuff." Other roles assigned by Roll Call are Cher as McCain aide Gwendolyn Van Paasschen (pronounced "passion"), Melanie Griffith as Cranston aide Joy Jacobson, John Candy as cantankerous special counsel Robert Bennett and Rod Stieger as Sen. Jesse Helms, R-N.C.
