Australian Army Maj. David "Gower" Freemen sets off for Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania Tuesday in his bid to throw a boomerang from the top of the highest mountain on each continent of the world.

The Australian Army said Freeman had already climbed the highest mountain in South America, Argentina's 23,079-foot Mount Aconcagua. But Freeman confessed he did have a problem at the summit. His boomerang didn't come back. "Maybe it was my style of throwing, but I really think it was the rarefied atmosphere that worked against me," Freeman said.

Freeman intends to walk the 225 miles from the Indian Ocean to the 19,430-foot Kilimanjaro.
