A Washington magazine is asking the Pulitzer Prize Board to reconsider an award to The Philadelphia Inquirer, saying the newspaper's prize-winning entry replicated earlier work by others including one of the magazine's reporters.

Inquirer editors Wednesday denied the accusation by the National Journal that reporter Tim Weiner used an earlier article by Journal reporter David C. Morrison as a "blueprint" for his series on a secret Pentagon budget. Weiner's series won a Pulitzer for national writing.
