Even though uncertainties about job security are number one, employees at Tooele Army Depot have reached into their hearts to assist others.
The depot recently completed its 1990-91 Combined Federal Campaign drive, raising pledges of $116,060. The goal was $110,000 - the total of 1989 contributions. The campaign provides federal and military personnel the opportunity to share with people who need help. Employees can designate support to agencies of their choice through payroll deductions or by cash or checks.
This year, part of the depot's donations will benefit the family of a fellow depot worker, Randy Friend. His wife, Cindy, has recently undergone a bone marrow transplant. Employees designated $38,197 to help with her operation and chemotherapy treatment.
