A California man was killed and his wife seriously injured in a rollover on I-15 Friday.

The deceased is Earl J. Miller, 88, Colton, Calif., who was a passenger in the car driven by his wife, Lenora M. Miller, 78.Mrs. Miller is in fair condition at St. Benedict's Hospital, Ogden, suffering from a chest contusion and a mild concussion. Her husband died at the hospital, where he was being treated for internal injuries.

Earl Miller was a former mayor of Blackfoot, Idaho.

The couple were southbound on I-15 just north of 12th Street. A Utah Highway Patrol spokesman said Mrs. Miller apparently fell asleep, the car drifted to the left, waking Mrs. Miller, who overcorrected, causing the car to swerve back to the right. As the car hit the soft shoulder on the west side of the road, it rolled.

The victim was not wearing a seatbelt.
