Salt Lake police have released the identity of a man whose body was found behind a house on Capitol Hill Tuesday.
The body has been identified as that of Dee W. Davis, 37, of 225 N. Main. Salt Lake Police Sgt. Ron Millard said Davis had been reported missing last week.Detectives are awaiting results of an autopsy from the state medical examiner to determine how the man died. Millard said he had been bleeding and suffered some abrasions, but there was no outward indication that the injuries would have killed him. The medical examiner was expected to issue the initial autopsy results Wednesday afternoon.
Construction workers found the victim's body about a block away from his home in the rear of a house at 151 N. State St. Workers said they spotted a trail of blood on Friday from the front to the rear of the house, but the body wasn't discovered until about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday.
Although the victim was not wearing a coat, Millard said a bloodied coat believed to belong to Davis was found in the area.
