Paul Ranheim, the Calgary Flames' fourth-leading goal-scorer, broke his right ankle in the third period of Tuesday night's 5-4 victory over the Minnesota North Stars.
Ranheim may miss the rest of the regular season, although the team said it would know more about the extent of the injury on Wednesday.Ranheim, who has 11 goals and 12 assists, sustained the injury when he slipped into the corner before Minnesota's Chris Dahlquist hit him.
Ranheim is a native of Edina, Minn., and his family was at the game.
Theoren Fleury, whose 18 goals lead the Flames, suffered a third-period wrist injury when he was slashed by Jim Johnson. The seriousness of the injury wasn't immediately known.
