Police are investigating the discovery of a body found Tuesday morning behind a house on Capitol Hill.
Construction workers found the body of an unidentified man behind a house at 151 N. State St.Police do not yet know if the man's death was homicide but say the circumstances are suspicious. If so, it would be the third homicide in Salt Lake City within the past eight days.
"He's been in some type of altercation," said Salt Lake Police Lt. Jim Bell. "He apparently suffered some type of injury."
Construction workers, removing asbestos from houses being restored at Gordon Place, an alley off State Street, said they saw a trail of blood leading from the front to the rear of the house Friday. The body was discovered about 11 a.m. Tuesday.
The man was described as a male white about 30 years old. No identification was found on the body, police say.
