A professional tourism organization has ranked three Utah attractions among the top 100 spots to visit in North America for 1991.

The America Bus Association says the Utah Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City, the Days of '47 celebration in Salt Lake City and Christmas at Temple Square in Salt Lake City are among the favorites for tour groups.Joe Rutherford of the Utah Travel Council said the association designates the top two attractions, with all others considered equally important on the top-100 list.

Factors in choosing the best spots to visit include the significance of the event for the traveling public, expected attendance, the level of community support and the event's national reputation. Selections are based on nominations submitted by state and provincial tourism officials.

The top attraction for 1991 will be the formal dedication of Mount Rushmore in South Dakota and the International Gathering of the Clans in Nova Scotia.
