Utah County is searching for people interested in serving on a historic preservation board.
Five people with a demonstrated interest, competence or knowledge in historic preservation are needed to serve two-year terms. Once formed, this commission will qualify Utah County as a Certified Local Government and will constitute eligibility to apply for historic preservation grants.The Preservation Commission will meet twice a year. Duties include involvement with professional historians, architectural historians, archaeologists and individuals from related disciplines to accomplish: survey and inventory of county historic resources; review nominations to the National Register of Historic Places; provide advice and information relative to historic resource; enforce local historic preservation laws; support the enforcement of state laws pertinent to historic preservation.
