As the economic recession increasingly becomes a factor in vacation budgets, Central Reservation Service, the nation's largest hotel reservations system, has issued a list of 15 "small but well-managed" midtown Manhattan hotels that charge less than $90 per night, double. On the list are the Aberdeen, Arlington, Best Western Woodward, Chatwal Park Avenue, Chatwal 45th Street, Days Inn 48th Street, Grand Union, Iroquois, Madison Towers, Mansfield, Pickwick Arms, Quality Inn Midtown, Stanford, Wentworth and West Park. "A Treasury of Bed & Breakfasts," a new guide compiled by the American Bed & Breakfast Association and released in September, lists more than 2,000 lodgings in North America that meet the organization's standards of cleanliness and quality.
