ZCMI stores valleywide will conduct a 14-hour food drive on behalf of the Community Services Council's Salt Lake Food Bank Monday, Dec. 10.

From 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., employees at the four Salt Lake area ZCMI and two ZCMI II stores will collect food at store entrances. The food will be boxed and donated to the food bank.This is the second year ZCMI has held a food drive.

The Salt Lake Food Bank distributes about 8,000 pounds of food a day to emergency food pantries, community dining rooms and other food banks in the area and across the state.

For each can of food donated, ZCMI will award a 10-percent savings certificate that can be used toward any single-item purchases in the stores that day.

Home-canned or perishable items are not acceptable.
