Brooke Shields is too much for Saudi Arabia. Sheilds and her mother, Terri, had been planning to leave Monday under the auspices of the USO to visit U.S. troops in Operation Desert Shield, but the Saudi government refused to issue her a visa on the grounds that she is "a young, single, female entertainer," the New York Daily News reported. Shields said she had planned to follow strict Moslem codes of dress and behavior for women while in Saudi Arabia and was disappointed to learn that she wouldn't be going. "There are people in Washington working to get me a visa and I hope they will be successful," she said. "The USO doesn't really have the answers either. For four months they thought it was going to be fine and they were handling it all for me. Now they are more up a tree than I am. They say they are still looking into it."
