The Islands took their toll on another BYU team Thursday night, when BYU's women's basketball team suffered a 74-51 loss to Hawaii's Rainbow Wahines.

A disastrous first half that saw the Cougars score only 17 points was the key to the game. BYU actually outscored Hawaii 34-27 in the second frame.Cougar center Amberli Gustin and power forward Lisa Rathbun both fouled out of the contest. High scorer honors for the Cougars went to guard Kim Talbot, who recorded 12. Rathbun and Gustin led the team with seven rebounds each and added 10 and eight points respectively.

BYU, 1-4 on the season, plays Hawaii again tonight.
