A Salt Lake man has been charged with vehicle homicide in the death Saturday of a West Valley City man.
Cameron B. Larson, 19, is accused of being intoxicated while driving the car that struck and killed Dale G. Rowley, 28, who was walking on a sidewalk along 41st South about 9:20 p.m.Larson's car was westbound at high speed when it went out of control near 15th West, narrowly missing several witnesses before it struck a large rock, a camper and a boat before coming to a stop, according to a criminal complaint filed in 3rd Circuit Court.
While officers investigated the crash, a witness found Rowley's body in the weeds to the side of the road.
A breath test revealed Larson had a blood-alcohol level of 0.20 percent, the complaint states. The legal limit is 0.08 percent.
Larson is also charged with driving on a suspended license and having improper registration, according to the complaint.
