Attorney Mike Proett of the law firm of Davis, Graham & Stubbs, which has offices in Salt Lake City, Denver and Washington, D.C., has been temporarily assigned to the office of Yuasa and Hara, a large Tokyo firm with an international law practice.

Proett will be an employee for one year. Both firms are members of the World Law Group."Mike's experience in Tokyo will allow us to provide better service to all our clients involved in U.S.-Japanese transactions . . . ," said Jim Holtkamp, a Salt Lake partner in the firm.

Holtkamp said the Salt Lake office will be increasingly involved in Pacific Rim legal matters, particularly those relating to environmental regulation and energy development.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "Some guys have donated $50,000 to the Utah Olympic cause.
