George A. Redington, 95-years-old Rupert resident, died Tuesday, December 4, 1990 at Minidoka Memorial Hospital in Rupert.

He was born July 16, 1895 at Oxford, Idaho, son of John Walter and Annie M. Robinson Redington. He attended schools in Oxford and married Lucy Addie Hawes October 13, 1915 at Pocatello. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Cardston Albert LDS Temple. She preceded him in death in 1988.He was employed by Union Pacific Railroad and had worked in Idaho, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, Labrador and Venezuela, South American, and had owned and operated a Dude Ranch at Clifton, Idaho with Lynn Davis and Lou McDermitt. He moved to Rupert in 1989 to be near his daughter. He was a member of the LDS Church and had served as a Bishop's Counselor and in many other capacities.

He is survived by two sons, Lee Redington, Brigham City; Boyd Redington, Cedar City; one daughter, Verna Olson, Rupert, Idaho; two brothers, Glenn Redington, Pocatello, Idaho; and Ernest Bricker, Salt Lake City; 25 grandchildren; 80 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two sons, one daughter, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon, Saturday, December 8, 1990 at the Cliffton LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Lyle Henderson officiating. Burial will be in the Oxford, Idaho Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:30-11:45 a.m., Saturday, at the church in Cliffton. Arrangements are under the direction of Hansen Mortuary, Rupert Idaho.
