William Niles "Bill" Topping, 67, of Salt Lake City, died December 5, 1990 in Bountiful, Utah of cancer.

He was born October 4, 1923 in Lafayette, Indiana to Niles Bartlett and Minnie Ruth Ferguson Topping. He lived most of his life in Salt Lake City, graduated from South High School.He was a vetern of World war II, having served in the Navy aboard the USS Colorado. He had worked as a dockhand and machinist for various companies. He loved fishing, hunting and was a gunsmith. He was a partner in Wheeler-Topping Custom Revolver Co. He raised and raced Siberian Huskies.

He is survived by close friends, Marolyn Pittenger, Bountiful; Neal Wheeler, Bountiful; Ben Wells, Las Vegas, Nevada and many other dear friends.

Funeral services will be Monday, December 10, 1990 at 1 p.m. at the MacKay Deseret Mortuary, 36 East 700 South, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Veteran's Section of the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
