A teenager visiting Salt Lake City from Tennessee was killed Wednesday afternoon in an automobile-motorcycle accident.

Killed was:Jerry Yarman, 17, of Chattanooga.

Yarman was apparently driving a motorcycle south on Redwood Road about 1:10 p.m. when his cycle and a vehicle driven by Joseph Schiess, 76, of Salt Lake City, collided. Schiess was traveling north and was turning left to go west on 400 North, said Salt Lake police officer Brock Young.

Yarman, whose cycle struck the side of Schiess' car, was taken to LDS Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about 4:15 p.m., a hospital spokesman said. Yarman apparently died of internal injuries. Schiess suffered only minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
