Utah Wildlife Resources Division officials say they have enough "leftover" rainbow trout to make late-season plants in three locations.

In the Provo River in Utah County, 1,000 trout were planted Wednesday between 1200 North and the Brigham Young University Diagonal. Another 1,000 fish will be planted in the Jordan River in southern Salt Lake County Thursday. And the Burriston Ponds, located south of Mona on State Road 91 in Juab County, received 2,000 trout Tuesday, Remund said. Two of the three ponds have iced over, but the ice is not thick enough to support much weight and fishermen should use care.
