Kenneth H. Rock has announced his retirement as president and executive officer of the Utah Hospital Association, and will be succeeded by Richard B. Kinnersley, executive vice president.
The retirement, effective Jan. 5, was announced at the association's annual convention. Rock will continue as a consultant for the association.The association's board approved Kinnersley to take Rock's executive positions.
Kinnersley is a former University Hospital marketing specialist and Public Employees Association executive. He served as employees association president for seven years.
Rock has been with the hospital association since October 1989, when he stepped down as president of Holy Cross Hospital. He served 20 years as an administrator at that hospital.
The board also elected Gary W. Farnes, chief executive officer of Intermountain Health Care's Salt Lake Valley hospitals, as chairman of the board of trustees for the association.
