Park City is the new home for a learning center co-sponsored by Utah Valley Community College and the University of Utah.

The center is in the Park City Museum Building. Classes will begin on Jan. 8."We are very excited about expanding into Park City," said Roger Porter, UVCC director of concurrent enrollment. "UVCC is dedicated to serving not only the residents of Utah County, but also those who live in the Mountainland region."

Park City will be one of five UVCC satellite learning centers. The College offers classes at centers in Provo, American Fork, Spanish Fork and the University Mall in Orem.

The Park City center will offer courses in general studies and vocational education, including hospitality management. Workshops and short-term intensive training will also be offered. Credits from completed courses can be directly transferred to UVCC or the University of Utah.

Porter said the curriculum at the Park City Center was designed to meet the specific needs of the community. Many of the vocational courses being offered have been designed specifically for employees and members of management from the ski and hospitality industries.
