Former real estate developer C. Dean Larsen is standing trial this week on eight felony counts of theft and breach of fiduciary duty.
Jury selection and opening statements were held Tuesday before 3rd District Court Judge Leonard Russon.A jury convicted Larsen in June on 18 felony counts of securities fraud. Russon sentenced Larsen in August to nine years in the Utah State Prison and ordered him to pay $700,000 in restitution. That sentence begins Dec. 17.
The state originally charged Larsen with 52 felony counts stemming from Larsen's handling of funds invested in Granada, Larsen's real estate development company.
