Judge Memorial High School will be one of 10 schools honored at the annual meeting of the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges, which will be held in Las Vegas this month.

Judge Memorial has been accredited for 50 years by the association, which is one of six regional accrediting organizations in the United States.Principal John H. McGean said only 4 percent of the accredited schools have been association members as long as Judge Memorial. To be accredited, the school has met minimum standards in curriculum offerings, facilities, guidance and counseling programs, media services, teaching staff and administration.

The school must report annual progress in these areas and must have an on-site review every 10 years.
