James Evans, a high school senior from Altamont, Duchesne County, Utah, has been named youth delegate-elect to the National Safety Council Board.

He was selected from a group of eight candidates from such organizations as 4-H, Camp Fire, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Vocational Industrial Clubs of America, Farm Bureau Youth, Anchor Clubs, American Institute of Cooperation and local safety councils.Evans, who has worked to promote farm safety, will serve a one-year internship on the national council's youth activities division. Next October he will be appointed to a one-year term as youth representative and ex-officio member of the National Safety Council Board.
