The Chamber-Ogden/Weber has passed a resolution honoring the late John S. Hinckley, businessman and civic leader who died Oct. 24. He was 67. The resolution noted that Hinckley's concern for the betterment of the community and his commitment to the Ogden area was demonstrated by establishment of his family automobile dealership in 1948. It also noted his dedication to promotion of economic development in the Ogden area and his service on the board of the Ogden Industrial Development Corp., Weber Economic Development Corp. and the chamber. In 1987, the chamber inducted Hinckley and his wife into its hall of fame, and their portrait hangs in the Ogden Park Hotel.
