Three Kearns men charged with injuring two people in a gang-related drive-by shooting incident in October pleaded not guilty to charges of attempted murder Monday.
Benny Lee Gardner, 18, Trentin M. Giles, 18, and Gary Archibald, 23, are charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault in connection with the shooting that occurred on Oct. 15 in Kearns.Each pleaded not guilty to the charges before 3rd District Judge Michael Murphy. Defense attorneys asked that their clients be tried separately, and Murphy will hold a hearing concerning that on Monday. Trial dates will also be set then.
The men are accused of shooting Alama Tausinga, 18, and Fatafehi Samani, 15, both of Kearns.
