Howard Ray Leonard, age 79, passed away December 2, 1990, in a Murray hospital of heart failure.

Born November 4, 1911 in Cortland, New York, to Moses and Sarah Bonno Leonard. Married Marthel Wendler, April 14, 1944, in Collinsville, Illinois.He was a veteran of World War II, U.S. Army. Retired from Western Steel in 1976, after 20 years service. For the last 14 years was involved with housing projects for senior, handicapped, and low income citizens. Member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, where he was a Lay Reader for many years. Former member Fort Douglas Rifle & Pistol Club and Murray Shade Tree Commission.

Survivors: wife, Murray; sons, Bruce A. and wife, Effi C., Salt Lake City; William, Fayetteville, North Carolina; daughter, Beverley, Syracuse, New York; brother, Roger, Syracuse, New York; three grandchildren, Karl J., Phoenix, Arizona; Kathryn A. and Michael D., both Salt Lake City.

Funeral services Thursday, 12 noon, St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 261 South 900 East. Friends may call Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, Wednesday, 7-9 p.m. Interment: Murray City Cemetery. Family suggests in lieu of flowers contributions be made to American Heart Association, 645 East 400 South, SLC, UT 84102.
