Ute Paula Oakey broke all the records for the high series, and the University of Utah's women's team won the 11-school Boise State University Invitational bowling tournament Friday and Saturday.

Oakey rolled a 205-247-288-740 series and also won the all-events title by averaging 209 with for a total of 2,515 pins. Utah's computerized team score was 172.5. Second-place Boise had 160.7, Washington State 155.85, Idaho 140.92 and Idaho State 131.16 in the top five. Utah team members were Sandra Sanders, Mari Rolando, Oakey, Tavia Siler, Roxane Wighall,The Utah men's team placed seventh, and Dave Lewis was fifth in the all-events competition 2,536.
