R. Thayne Robson, executive director of the Bureau of Economic and Business Research at the University of Utah, and Ross E. Kendell, president and chief executive officer of Key Bank of Utah, have been given the Professional Achievement Award from Utah State University.
The award is given by the USU Alumni Association and the College of Business' Partners in Business program.Robson is also a professor of management and a research professor of economics at the University of Utah. He is active in business and economic development throughout Utah and is frequently cited in the media for his expertise.
He has served on many national committees and has written numerous books and journal articles. Robson is a 1951 graduate of Utah State and also has a master's degree from USU. He has studied at Cornell and Harvard. He has taught at Harvard and was also an associate of the Brookings Institution at Harvard.
Kendell has been president of Key Bank since 1987. He was also named chief executive officer in 1989.
