Ruth Cooley Jensen, age 51, of Provo, died December 2, 1990, of cancer at her home in Provo.

She was born November 26, 1939 in Newton, Utah, the daughter of Marcus R. and Marvel Griffen Cooley. She married Jay Lynn Jensen in the Logan LDS Temple, March 8, 1968.She received her education in the Cache County Schools, and graduated from North Cache High School also graduated from Utah State University in Elementary Education. She served a mission in Central America from 1961 to 1963. She has lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, Los Angeles; and Thousand Oaks, California and Provo, Utah. She has taught elementary school in Spanish Fork, Utah; Salt Lake City, Utah; Los Angeles, California and Pleasant Grove, Utah. Active member of the LDS Church and served in many leadership and teaching positions all her life.

Survived by husband, Jay Lynn Jensen, Provo; three sons, John Aaron Jensen, Michael Robert Jensen and Mark Andrew Jensen, all of Provo; three brothers and two sisters, Marcus Ralph Cooley, Kaysville, Utah; Robert O. Cooley, Chicago, Illinois; Noel H. Cooley, Logan, Utah; Mrs. David (Marvel) Benton, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Mrs. Murrey (Audrey) Fowler, Davis, California. Preceded in death by parents, Marcus R. and Marvel Cooley, one brother and one sister, John G. Cooley and Mary Sorensen.

Services will be held Wednesday, December 5, 1990, 11 a.m., Edgemont 14th Ward, 4000 Foothill Drive, Provo. Friends may call Tuesday, December 4, 1990, 6-8 p.m. in the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street or at the Ward Chapel Wednesday, one hour prior to services. Interment: Newton City Cemetery.
