An Oct. 4 trial date has been set for an Ogden man accused in the June shooting death of another man on a street in west Ogden.

Danilo D. Pascual, charged with second-degree murder in the shooting of Todd Salazar June 25, entered a plea of not guilty Wednesday before 2nd District Judge Ronald O. Hyde. Pascual is free on a $10,000 bond.Prosecutors charge that Pascual got into a fight with some other men when Salazar tried to break it up. Pascual is accused of pistol-whipping Salazar, who took off running before he was shot in the back and collapsed in a driveway on 33rd Street.
