A former policeman who helped stop the Texas Tower sniper in 1966 is suing the Turner Broadcast System and claiming a TBS movie inaccurately portrays him as a coward. Houston McCoy of Menard, Texas, is suing for $14 million and charges that the 1975 movie "The Deadly Tower," starring Kurt Russell and John Forsythe, caused him to become an alcoholic and devastated his self-respect. McCoy said the film, which aired most recently on TBS this week, portrays him as a coward, even though he was commended for bravery after the sniper incident. "Had (Turner) investigated the facts of the incident, it would have discovered that the movie contained factual inaccuracies," McCoy said, adding that he can't watch the movie or hear about it "without slipping into deep depression."
