Ann Ramsey, the gravel-voiced actress who played Danny DeVito's snarling mother in the 1987 movie comedy "Throw Momma from the Train," died Thursday in Los Angeles of cancer. Ramsey, 59, was nominated for an Academy Award for her role as the greasy-haired, mean-spirited hag in "Throw Momma from the Train." Her role gave rise to a classic bit of dialogue, where DeVito, importuning Billy Crystal to murder her, says: "Just meet her. Maybe she's somebody you'd like to kill."
