The United Way of the Great Salt Lake Area has reached the $4.1 million mark in its quest to raise $6.2 million for health and human service programs in Salt Lake, Tooele and Summit counties.
Most companies will finish their campaigns for donations and pledges in early December."I am very pleased with community support for the campaign," said Frederic "Fritz" Reed, 1990 campaign chairman and vice president for Utah Power & Light. "The campaign volunteers established a significant dollar goal which is tied directly to community needs and it is imperative that we meet those needs. We are approaching the $6.2 million goal, but we do need continued public support to ensure meeting that objective."
United Way will hold its campaign closing Victory Celebration Dec. 13 at noon in the Hilton Hotel.
