Israeli soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian man Friday and wounded another when several residents of a Gaza refugee camp armed with axes and clubs attacked an Israeli army patrol, the army said.

Residents of the Dheisheh refugee camp outside Bethlehem clashed with soldiers early Friday and a curfew was imposed on the camp, 6 miles south of Jerusalem, state-run Israel Radio said.In the Maghazi refugee camp in Gaza, several residents armed with axes, clubs and chains attacked an army patrol shortly after midnight, an army spokesman said.
