Clare E. Janes, 44, of Salt Lake City, passed away Thursday evening, November 29, 1990, at University Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born June 18, 1946, in Logan, Utah, the son of Eldon and Velma Janes. Married Jacqueline Gonsalves, on June 26, 1975. Clare was raised in Providence, Utah and attended Cache County Public Schools. He graduated from Utah State University and received his Masters Degree from the University of Utah in 1975. Clare worked at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City Water Department, the U. S. Geological Survey, and finally at the Bureau of Land Management in Salt Lake City. He served an LDS Mission to England, and gave time and effort supporting the Salt Lake City School District Volunteer Program. Clare took great pride in his family, and especially enjoyed spending time with his wife raising their two daughters. He enjoyed all sports and was an avid fan of USU sports.He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; two daughters, Melissa and Erica, all Salt Lake City; mother, Velma Janes, Providence; brothers, Lynn Janes, Providence; Dale Janes, West Bountiful; Dean Janes, Logan; Verl Janes, Providence, and Kay Olsen, Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 3rd, 2:00 p.m., Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call Sunday, 6-8 p.m., and Monday, one hour prior to services. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
