James E. Lewis, age 83, died at his home on November 27, 1990 after a long illness.
Born September 20, 1907 in Frisco, Utah to Wilbert C. and Florence Johnson Lewis. He married Florence Huff on January 31, 1931 in Provo, Utah. He attended schools in Junction, Alunite, Kaysville and Eureka, Utah, where he graduated from Tintic High School. His happiest school days were spent in Eureka where he excelled in his studies and football. He worked on many construction projects in Oregon and Utah as a heavy duty equipment operator and master mechanic. Member of the Operating Engineers Local #3 for 49 years. After many moves he settled with his family in Spanish Fork, where he has spent most of his life.Survivors are wife, Florence; two daughters; one son, Mrs. Calvin (Marlene) Sanford, Spanish Fork; Mrs. Norman (Judy) Cole, Koosharem; James Ray (Beverly) Lewis, Spanish Fork; two sisters, Mrs. Grant (Norma) Wightman and Mrs. Fred (Glowie) Levanger; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; preceded in death by a son Terry H. Lewis and five brothers, Leo, Theo, Wayne, Dale and Carlyle Lewis.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 1, 1990 at 11 a.m. at the Huff-Linde Funeral Home, Spanish Fork. Friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to services. Burial: Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
