William Peterson, age 86, died November 26, 1990 in Salt Lake City.

He was born Januray 13, 1904 in Richfield, Utah; a son of Lawrence Martin and Elizabeth May Gurr Peterson. He married Pablita Chavez, August 1, 1923 in Richfield, Utah; marriage later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple; she died July 27, 1984.Active member of the LDS Church, he and his wife served a mission to the Manti LDS Temple; he served as branch president in the Richfield Indian Branch. He was a High Priest in the Richfield 7th LDS Ward. He was a member of the Richfield Fire Department, where he served as Chief in 1944. He played in several Country Western Dance Bands, music was the highlight of his life.

Survivors: son, Lawrence M. and wife Vicki Peterson, Taylorsville, Utah; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by two daughters, Marjorie P. Cowley and Barbara P. Linney.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 30, 1990 at 12 noon in the Richfield 7th LDS Ward Chapel, friends may call for viewing at the Springer-Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Friday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to the services. Burial, Richfield City Cemetery.
