Jeremy Nobis of Park City, outskied a field of 74 skiers Tuesday to win the first major giant slalom of the season. Nobis, a member of the U.S. Ski Team, posted a two-run time of two minutes, 25.03 seconds to win the U.S. Special FIS event.

Second was Rob Parisien, another member of the U.S. Team, with a time of 2:25.33. Jeff Olson, also of Park City, finished in a tie for seventh. Spencer Eccles, of Salt Lake City, finished 27th.
