The Mountain View Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary, or "Pink Ladies," is expanding its services and needs more volunteers.
Anyone who would be willing to volunteer a shift of at least four hours per week is invited to join the auxiliary. The volunteers staff the gift shop, the information desk, provide messenger service, distribute mail and do filing in various departments. The areas currently open for volunteer work include obstetrics, the medical/surgical floor, pediatrics and nursery. There are also some afternoon openings in the gift shop and messenger service.
Volunteers are also being sought to staff the information desk around the clock. Due to the massive construction project and the emergency room doors located near the main lobby, volunteers are needed to serve as guides and offer information 24 hours a day. Shifts available are from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on a temporary basis for the next year.
Those interested in joining may contact Shirley Griffiths, director of volunters, at 465-9201 ext. 119.
