Springville City has agreed to allow the State Division of Parks and Recreation to operate a training facility for snowmobiles in the field west of Jolley's Ranch in Hobble Creek Canyon.

The state will provide safety training and give instruction on operating snowmobiles at the training site. The state will be liable for all injuries resulting from accidents that occur at the site and will be responsible for all operating expenses. Springville will provide snow removal on the canyon road leading to the site.City officials also said the Forest Service has proposed grooming a trail for snowmobile users that would begin at Jolley's Ranch and extend up the right fork of Hobble Creek Canyon. City officials said they support the proposal because it gives snowmobile users a safe place to operate and will help control winter use of the canyon.
