A Davis County Sheriff's Department paramedic truck sustained damage estimated between $5,000 and $6,000 when it slid off an icy road in Layton Monday morning and overturned, according to sheriff's Lt. Curt Johnson.
Neither paramedic in the truck was injured in the accident, which was investigated by the Layton Police Department.Johnson said the truck, being driven about 25 mph, slid on an icy spot on Angel Street about 10:30 a.m. Monday during the snowstorm that battered the Wasatch Front. The truck slid sideways and overturned when it hit a patch of soft dirt on the side of the road, Johnson said.
The two paramedics in the truck, which was not on an emergency run, were identified by Johnson as Dave Fluckiger and Lynn Gray.
"We're not very happy about it, but those things happen to us, just like anyone else, said Johnson. "It was just one of those freak things."
