Fern Etta Heath, 76, passed away Saturday, November 24, 1990 at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden.
She was born August 16, 1914 in Cannonville, Utah, a daughter of Joseph and Eliza Ellen Dutton Anderson Fletcher.She married Melvin R. Heath April 10, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was reared in Junction, Utah, graduated from Marysvale High School. She had lived in Orem, Springville and Hurricane prior to moving to Kaysville in 1957. She had been a nanny in Washington state. She was an active member of the Kaysville LDS 13th Ward, serving as a Primary teacher, in the Young Women's MIA, the Sunday School and was organist for both the Ward and Stake. She also served in the Relief Society presidency and as a visiting teacher and supervisor.
Her hobbies were oil painting, needlework and traveling. Geneology was her love, she had stacks of it around her home. She was a member of the Weinel Mill Camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and of the Neighborhood Birthday Club.
Surviving are her husband of Kaysville; two adopted children, Kevin Heath, Salt Lake City; Kathy Heath and husband Ken Cox, Amarillo, Texas; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four sisters, Sarah Ellen Merrell, Provo; Harriet Elmer, Lena Branham, both of Junction, Utah; Velda Grover, Ogden. Preceded in death by a daughter, Retta Heath Arnold; two brothers, Ariel and Vil Fletcher; one sister, Delta Frandsen.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville LDS 13th Ward Chapel, 875 East 200 North. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main, and Wednesday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
